Life As An Itinerant Artist

Stories and anecdotes from fifteen years on the art show circuit.

Off to Kalamazoo

It seems like I just got back from Florida, and now it’s off to Kalamazoo for a one-day Art Fair Garage Sale. In the course of five years, I’ve accumulated a lot of one-offs, dinged frames and the like, and this show is an opportunity to find new homes for some of it. The prints themselves are in pristine condition, it’s just the frames, basically. My friend Ron Neihoff, from Grand Rapids, should also be there, so it will be a one-day party.

And I’ve got a lot of work that I no longer hang at shows, or even take with me on the trailer. Big black and canvas gallery wraps, some Tuscan style wraps, older prints that didn’t sell as well as I hoped. Stuff like that. I am constantly turning out new work, and having the older stuff lying around is the price you pay for constant experimentation I guess. But it’s your chance to get a one-of-a-kind bargain, too!

If you’re interested in attending, it’s at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds, Saturday, February 28, from 9AM to 4PM. Admission is $2 at the gate.
